Gov. Steve Bullock will officially file papers for his re-election at 3:30 Monday afternoon in Helena.
Bullock, a Democrat, is the first to file in the 2016 gubernatorial race, though others have announced their candidacy including Republicans Mark Perea and Greg Gianforte, as well as Libertarian Ron Vandevender and Independent Christopher Zarcone.
Bullock defeated Republican Rick Hill in the 2012 gubernatorial election. Bullock will be accompanied by Lt. Governor Mike Cooney, as he walks from his office in the Capital building to the Secretary of State’s office to file.
